PeepingMoon Exclusive: People decide what to watch, Brahmastra and Pathaan's opening collections were examples- Vasan Bala

The trend of Boycott Bollywood had gripped the entire nation. No matter what, a section of people had problems with most of the content that the Hindi film industry had to offer in the last year. Due to this, several good films failed to ignite a spark at the box office that could revive the industry post the COVID-19 pandemic. However, with big projects like Brahmastra and Drishyam 2 towards the end of the year, the industry began breathing fresh air.

Now, with Pathaan, it is possible that Bollywood will be at an all-time high even at the box office. Reacting to the Boycott Bollywood trend, director Vasan Bala told PeepingMoon.com that when people decide to watch a film, they will do so without taking any negative trend into consideration. The filmmaker, who is enjoying the success of Cinema Marte Dum Tak, said, "The good thing is people decide what they want to watch. No matter how many hashtag boycott trends run, the opening box office collections of Brahmastra and Pathaan were incredible."

He further added, "When you said people don’t like to watch remakes, the audience turned up for Drishyam 2. You can create hashtags and opinions but people will watch what they want to and you cannot stop them."

We hope the trend of Boycott Bollywood stops forever.
