Telugu superstar Allu Arjun is one of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema with a massive fan following across the world. The stylish star has been entertaining audiences for the past two decades as a leading man, establishing himself as a leading light in the South Indian film industry with films like Arya, Race Gurram, Sarrainodu, DJ, and Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo among others. Sukumar’s 2021 blockbuster action drama Pushpa: The Rise further brought him pan-India stardom, and since then his fans up North have been wishing to see him in a Hindi film. Allu has spoken about being open to the idea of working in a true-blue Bollywood movie, provided the project is exciting, and several rumours have also surfaced in the past regarding his Bollywood debut. But the Bunny star has stayed away from Hindi films thus far, turning down numerous offers.
However, Allu Arjun’s long-distance love for Bollywood is soon likely to bring him to the Hindi film industry. Peepingmoon.com has exclusively learned that Allu might make his first Bollywood appearance in Shah Rukh Khan’s next mega-action film, Jawan. The director Atlee has approached him for a special cameo role in this commercial entertainer, and Allu is also said to be excited about this once-in-a-lifetime chance to appear on screen with SRK. "Allu has been offered a role that plays a very important part in the film’s storyline. The narration happened just yesterday, and although Allu Arjun hasn’t given his nod yet, Atlee is hopeful that he will do the film. The casting for this specific part has been quite difficult for the director, as it requires an A-list star who has never been seen with Shah Rukh on screen. Allu will give his final confirmation in a few days, and we are expecting and wishing it will be a yes from him," a source close to the development told us.
Allu Arjun’s addition to Jawan will only make this film bigger than ever. The film is already a true-Pan India ensemble drama with a cast that comprises actors from Bollywood as well as the South film industry. Apart from SRK, the film also features Vijay Sethupathi, Nayanthara, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Sunil Grover, Riddhi Dogra, and Yogi Babu in pivotal roles, and Deepika Padukone in a cameo role as SRK’s wife. Allu’s entry in Jawan will also be his official debut in Hindi films; over twenty Telugu films later in his two-decade career.
The Red Chillies Entertainment production is nearing completion and is expected to be completed by the end of March. The film’s six-day short schedule was concluded just last week in Mumbai, and the new schedule has begun today in Chennai. However, only Priyamani’s portion will be shot for a few days, and SRK will join the sets only later this month, after completing his current schedule of Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki. Furthermore, we have also learned that Thalapathy Vijay is not a part of this film, as rumoured in the media. Jawan is scheduled to release in cinemas in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on June 2, 2023.
