Durga Puja and Navratri mark the triumph of good over evil. The joyous event honours Maa Durga, her nine manifestations (Navdurgas), and her triumph over the evil buffalo Mahishasura. Maha Navami, popularly known as the ninth day of Navratri or the fourth day of Durga Puja falls on Tuesday, October 4 this year. On this last day, devotees of Maa Durga celebrate Maa Siddhidatri, her ninth manifestation.
Pink is the colour of the day for Maha Navami. On the ninth day of Navratri, devotees can worship Goddess Siddhidatri by dressing in pink. The colour pink is a representation of kindness, harmony, tenderness, unconditional love, and nurture.
