Singer Lisa Marie Presley, daughter of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley dies at 54

Lisa Marie Presley, a musician and the only daughter of rock ‘n’ roll legend Elvis Presley died on Thursday. She was 54 years old. Lisa was rushed to a Los Angeles hospital after she suffered a cardiac arrest at her home. Her ex-husband Danny Keough performed CPR on her when she was found unresponsive in her bedroom by their housekeeper. Keough got home from taking the kids to school and performed CPR until paramedics arrived as per an online portal. Lisa and Keough have been living together for quite some time now.

Lisa’s mother Priscilla Presley confirmed the news of her death in a statement, “It is with a heavy heart that I must share the devastating news that my beautiful daughter Lisa Marie has left us. She was the most passionate, strong and loving woman I have ever known. We ask for privacy as we try to deal with this profound loss.”

The musician suffered cardiac arrest in her home in the Los Angeles suburb of Calabasas, post which she was rushed to a hospital on Thursday. Lisa and her mother were at the Golden Globe Awards on Tuesday night in Beverly Hills to see Austin Butler win the Best Actor Award for portraying Elvis Presley in the film Elvis. She began her music career in 2003 with the debut album To Whom It May Concern which was followed by 2005’s Now What. Both the albums hit the top 10 of the Billboard 200 album chart. Her third album Storm and Grace was released in 2012.

Lisa was born in 1968 and had 4 children, including actress Riley Keough and her son, Benjamin, who died by suicide in 2020. Her two other daughters are twins Harper and Finley Lockwood, 14. She was married four times. She wed pop star Michael Jackson, in 1994, just 20 days after her divorce from her first husband, musician Danny Keough. However, she and Jackson divorced in 1996 as he was battling child molestation allegations. Lisa married actor Nicholas Cage, a huge fan of her father, in 2002. Cage filed for divorce four months later. Her fourth marriage was to her guitarist and music producer Michael Lockwood. Their divorce was finalized in 2021.
